Tax Preparation Class-Beginner Level
Wednesdays from October 4th-November 29th from 7-9 pm
or Saturdays from October 7th-December 2nd from 10 am-12 pm
Practical Accounting Solutions will be offering a beginner level tax preparation course beginning October 4th and October 7th. The classes will be two hours each week on Wednesday evenings from 7 pm-9 pm or Saturday mornings from 10 am-12 pm at our office on Courthouse Rd. There will be a $150 fee for the books, supplies and online portal due by the beginning of the first class. There will be homework from each class which will need to be completed outside of the class time prior to the next class. To run either class we will need a minimum of 4 students. If we can't get 4 students that class will either be canceled or we will try to combine both classes into one. This is a great opportunity for anybody that is looking to get a better understanding of not only their own tax situation but about potential deductions, credits, etc. that they may qualify for that they haven't been claiming in the past. It will also give all of you a better idea of what we do here at Practical Accounting Solutions during those long winter nights during tax season.
The last piece is that there is potential for a job opportunity after taking the class. We have been growing steadily over the past three years and the time has come to add additional staff. The long and short of it is the class will be a two month interview process for anyone that is interested in working a flexible part-time schedule from the middle of January through the middle to end of April. How many positions and how many hours will be available has not been determined at this time. We'll get into that further as the class proceeds.
Also, if you know of anyone that has 2 or more years of prior tax preparation experience and is looking for a flexible part-time position please have them forward their resume for our review.
Personal Tax Extensions
Personal Tax Extensions are due Monday October 16th. If we filed an extension for you in April (or before April) it is now time to get all of your documentation together and set an appointment to get your return completed. Since we have grown there are many more clients that filed extensions with us this year. Please do not procrastinate as October 16th will be a very busy day for us. The sooner you get us your information the better chance we will both have to review, discuss and file an accurate return that doesn't need to be amended.
